As we kick off the new year, we are thankful for the many great partnerships and connections we have made in 2019. We have compiled some of the top highlights, a review of our more than ten closed transactions, and a look into some of the most notable BSC internal achievements and thought leadership experiences throughout the past year.
With the goal of continuously identifying the optimal outcome for our clients, we worked extremely hard to achieve their transaction objectives.
-
- Increased focus on the physician practice sector with hiring of Richard Jacques and sales of Cumberland Eye Care and Cookeville Eye Specialists
-
- Closed six additional transactions in the payer services sector, totaling more than 20 transactions over the past five years. The 2019 transactions included an industry-leading business process automation firm, an international deal, and two transactions representing Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City
-
- Growth capital and M&A transactions with innovative technology firms across a variety of verticals including quality improvement / risk adjustment, home health technology, and credentialing
-
- Bailey Southwell was named a 2019 Boutique Investment Banking Firm of the Year finalist by M&A Advisor

Prior to joining BSC, Richard was the Vice President of Development at Covenant Surgical Partners, a physician services company backed by KKR that operates a variety of healthcare facilities including ambulatory surgery centers, anesthesia companies, and physician practices, where he was responsible for driving its acquisition strategy.
And, we rounded out the year celebrating four well-deserved promotions.

Our Managing Director, Russell Bryan, participated in a number of panel discussions including one at the 2019 Physician Practice Management & ASC Symposium and one at the Nashville Health Care Council Discussion. Russell will be speaking at multiple conferences again in 2020.
Our Managing Director and co-founder, Jack Bailey, contributed to WorkCompWire with a two-part series providing insight into valuation drivers over and above financial metrics for businesses in the workers’ comp sector. If you missed it, catch up on part one and part two here.
In 2019, BSCCP completed strategic investments in Data Dimensions, Shearwater Health, ChartSpan, and Tellus.
